Sora Summit, an initiative of Sora Ventures, first materialized in November 2018 in the bustling city of Macau, a globally renowned gaming and entertainment hub with a unique blend of Portuguese and Chinese cultures. Over two days at the Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre, Sora Summit hosted over 100 distinguished speakers from different corners of the world, such as representatives from Pantera Capital, Blocktower, 500 Startups, Binance Labs, KPMG, Origin Protocol, OKEx, Foundation Capital, Qtum Foundation, and more. The inaugural Summit attracted over 1000 attendees, encompassing universities, investment firms, startups, and corporate firms.

Four Key Categories

Bitcoin Utility

With the recent release of Ordinals and introduction of BRC20, there has been tremendous growth in developers entering the bitcoin space, which has not only significantly benefited miners but also the ecosystem as a whole. Further utility on bitcoin is essential to justify a new price floor after the halving.

Cryptography & Encryption

Lack of data privacy on blockchain is a challenge that enterprise and institutions face when entering Web3. Privacy layers and encryption is a key solution to bringing utility to the web3 space.

Decentralized Science

Decentralized Science or DeSci is the idea that science-based projects can be open sourced to form communities that fuel the mission financially, through knowledge sharing or other forms of resource sharing.

NFT Utility

Though proven prominent last bull-cycle, the development around NFT utility is still early and has immense upside. With different uses cases waiting to be discovered, new layers of innovation can be added to scale adoption and increase utility.
